The reception was held at the historical Spring House Hotel on Block Island, Rhode Island. An island known for its beaches, lighthouses and beautiful sunsets. That night, that weekend, for a reason beyond all our control -- a storm like no other that year made its way to Block Island. But for those that successfully braved the tough ferry ride to come to Block Island that weekend, it was evident that night was going to be special even without the sunset. Unfortunately some were unable to make it until the beginning of the reception. The ferrys were cancelled, but that wasn't going to stop the family from finding their way. Some took plane rides over from Westerly, other waited hours at Point Judith for the ferries to start running. They were determined -- determined to spend their evening celebrating with Nicole and CJ.

The night got even better. It was filled with memorable moments with family and friends -- dancing, talking and celebrating with libations. There were Elvis impersonations, there was Paul Simon sightings, there were newcomers to the dance floor, seeing how low they could go. -- A little bit softer now, a little softer now, a little bit louder now, a little bit louder now.

Even as the rain and wind penetrated Victoria's Parlor the guests took it all in stride. They soon forgot about the weather outside, and continued to share in the special day with Nicole and CJ.

No one wanted the night to end. Why did it have to? No one was getting off the island any time soon.
