As
many of you know the weather did not let up...but this did
not stop the wedding morning from being a special day with
family and friends. The bride shared mimoses and bagels
with her bridal party and CJ began his life as a husband-to-be
by relaxing with his groommen. Well actually CJ was sleeping
in but don't tell Nikki.
They
cancelled the ferries that day. They were unable to run
because the seas were too rough. Nicole called CJ that morning
-- they decided -- she was there, he was there, the priest
-- he wa on the island too. -- That is all they needed to
know. At the end of the day, Nikki was still going to become
Mrs. CJ Correnti.
The
photographer was on the mainland as well as the DJ and about
13 family members. They called -- the ferries were cancelled.
No telling when they would start up again. What were they
all to do - Wait? Go home? Take a plane to Block Island?
Meanwhile,
at the bride's house, family was scattering to make alternate
plans. We have film! We have CDs! The wedding
party was all accounted for!
The bride couldn't have been any calmer. She proceeded to
get her hair and makeup done, the bridal party put on their
dresses, the maid of honor had herself a little cry in the
bathroom. Someone had to break down for a moment. All that
was planned right down to the final detail had to be changed
due to the weather.
...The
show must go on.
The
ceremony went off without a hitch. Family and friends gathered
at St. Andrew's church where Nicole and CJ said their wedding
vows and became Mr. & Mrs. CJ Correnti.
